EARTH KEEPERS

Gathering in English!
Earth Keepers Gatherings are for people who care for the Earth, who feel the pain of the Earth – and know it is time to act.
How do inner work & activism come together ~ reinforce each other?
The monthly online workshops offer the space to connect with like-minded souls from all over the world. Within the gatherings we will shed light on how to handle challenging emotions, explore our abilities, our talents, our strengths and support each other on our Earth Keeper journeys after the gatherings.
You will be guided through a 2,5 hour journey in which you will:
Explore the question how to honour, embrace and use challenging emotions caused by the awareness of the troubling state of our world — so that they can serve as fuel for action
Learn how to do so, by methods of environmental activist & deep ecology advocate Joanna Macy
Experience the transformative & healing power of community talking circles, of openly sharing from the heart in a safe space
Hear each month a different story of an inspiring activist or learn about organisations, methods & principles that bring forth eco-social change
March focus topic: Deep Adaptation
This month we will shed light on the paper “Deep Adaptation: A Map for Navigating Climate Tragedy” written by Professor Jem Bendell PhD.
“The essence of The Deep Adaptation Agenda is a conceptual map to explore what we, as mainly framed at a community level, can do differently given a shocking new found awareness of the more recently available information on climate change and its implications of near term social collapse. It expands the mainstream environmental movement’s focus on mitigation (e.g. lowering CO2 emissions) to one of considering how we can adapt to a coming climate tragedy.”
Dr. Jem Bendell is a Professor of Sustainability Leadership and Founder of the Institute for Leadership and Sustainability (IFLAS) at the University of Cumbria (UK).
He has reviewed the latest climate data and speaks into its inevitable implications. He touches on the types of denial, hopes, identities, and priorities that may occur as we consider what’s to come.
“In support of that challenging, and ultimately personal process, understanding a deep adaptation agenda of resilience, relinquishment and restoration may be useful.”
Co-Facilitator: Trace Axtell
Trace was a participant in the last gathering on Social Permaculture. I am super happy that he offered to make a contribution and is going to share his findings about the paper out of his yurt in Colorado!
“With love and reverence, I will be sharing what insights I have gathered from this paper and it’s vital following. I intend to spark conversation, ask relevant questions and encourage radical action.
It will be a space of vision, empathy, and truth.
I am honored to gather with you. ”
